As I wave February goodbye (and continuing the pink-themed postings apparently !), I'd like to share with you the photos I took last weekend, featuring the most typical blossoms of February: almond trees and wild pear trees.
Almond trees signal the beginning of spring for me. When I was a pupil, we used to bring to school cuttings from the almond tree and the teacher would put it in a vase on her desk. I used to look at it during the lesson, in anticipation of spring.
Still, I can't resist absorbing its beauty either in contrast to a grey, cloudy sky or even better to a blue clear sky, such as this.
I don't know if it's the memories or their beauty, or both, but almond trees have a place in my heart!
so very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful and I bet the blossom smells so sweet!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh, my! These blossoms took my breath away! What a color – I can see why they are special to you, Rose.
ReplyDeleteNo trees in bloom yet here but it's just a matter of weeks.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
